On Tuesday, AI team members Scott Afzal, David Finney, and Christopher Brandt showed their support as Governor Martin O’Malley signed into law Maryland House Bill 706. David Horrocks, President of
CRISP, and Pegeen Townsend, Senior Vice President of Legislative Policy for the
Maryland Hospital Association, were also in attendance. This progressive health IT bill seeks to align Maryland with national electronic health record (EHR) adoption goals and also requires the State to designate an official health information exchange.
